John Craun

John brings more than 40 years of management and international experience to the board of Empowered Ventures. He most recently served as President of the Agriculture & Nutrition Division and as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Vertellus Specialties, among several other senior level positions throughout his 28-year tenure there. The privately held Indianapolis-based company provides fine and specialty chemicals for the agriculture, nutrition, medical, personal care, and industrial markets. During his career John was involved in buying or selling a dozen different businesses (including four foreign joint ventures). In his free time John volunteers as a tutor for English as a second language, treasurer on three different non-profit boards, and finance committee member with Indianapolis Public Schools.
