We’re proud to announce a significant leadership milestone taking place at the company whose employee ownership success paved the way for EV’s founding. TVF, which became 100% employee-owned in 2010, will now be led by President Tad Calahan as Empowered Ventures CEO, TVF’s longtime leader, Chris Fredericks, shifts his full focus to building Empowered Ventures.
Chris joined TVF in 2005. In 2010, he spearheaded then owner Dick Hanzel’s exit through the sale of the company to its employees through an ESOP. Chris led the launch of EV in 2020 and began a transition process designed to hand off day-to-day TVF leadership to Tad Calahan. After two years of substantial progress and meaningful results by the entire TVF team, the company is ready to continue to flourish with Tad at the helm.
Tad joined TVF in 2007 and has served in roles including director of accounting & finance and chief financial officer. He was named president and COO in 2021 and has led several comprehensive improvements, including a major enterprise resource planning (ERP) conversion, the full modernization of warehousing and fulfillment operations, and building a management team positioned to take TVF to the next level.
Since its inception, EV has progressed from an idea to a true holding company with three robust businesses. Our team is ready to help our family of businesses grow and add meaningful value to the ESOP, while continually seeking the next great company to join our group.
