Empowered Ventures Names Mike Algrim Vice President, Portfolio Operations
Strategic operating executive bolsters ESOP holding company team
We are excited to welcome Mike Algrim as Vice President, Portfolio Operations, of Empowered Ventures. With nearly two successful decades advising and supporting hundreds of companies across numerous industries, Mike’s experience will help our newer operating companies achieve their potential by clearly defining and accomplishing their strategies and plans.
Mike most recently served as Vice President (COO/ Integrator) of Illinois-based Batavia Enterprises, Inc., a third-generation family office focused on commercial real estate. During that time, he successfully led several operational transformations that resulted in greater alignment between the long-term vision and the key strategies needed to be successful.
In his role as Empowered Ventures VP, Portfolio Operations, Mike’s responsibilities will include guiding and coaching management teams, establishing financial plans and discipline, leading the companies through effective strategic and annual planning processes, supporting management in the execution of those plans, and leading the onboarding and integration of new acquisitions.
Mike spent 15 years at First National Bank of Omaha, rising to the position of Managing Director, Commercial Banking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in corporate ventures from DePaul University.
He believes in using business as a catalyst to help people be their best selves, an ethos that fits like a glove with the Empowered Ventures mission, and one that makes Mike ideal for guiding and supporting our operating companies and their leadership teams.
