Spencer Springer Joins Empowered Ventures
We are excited to welcome Spencer Springer to Empowered Ventures. Spencer brings a diverse background in management, mergers and acquisitions, operations, accounting and finance, strategic planning, human capital management, and marketing. He is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a degree in Finance and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with a master’s degree in Business Administration.
At Empowered Ventures, Spencer is leading the initiative to identify and acquire exceptional businesses, which he is uniquely qualified for due to his background and approach. He is a seasoned M&A professional, having spent many years in private equity and investment banking focused on companies with $1-5 million of annual owner earnings. He is also an experienced CFO, having successfully served as the lead finance executive for multiple private equity-owned companies as well as a family-owned company.
Prior to joining Empowered Ventures, Spencer prepared and led the sale of his mom’s business to a large public company. During that experience he learned there was a gap in the market when he could not find a buyer that met all his mom’s goals. Per Spencer, “My mom wanted full market value for the company she spent so many years building, but also wanted a great long-term home that would continue her legacy and provide growth opportunities for key employees. I believe Empowered Ventures is well-positioned to meet these common seller needs and I’m excited to share the unique benefits of selling to an employee-owned holding company.”
